A World-famous Job!

One of the very first projects we were involved in was to supply fasteners and sealants to possibly the most famous “garden shed” on the planet.

The 17th Hole on the Old Course at St Andrews is one of the most unusual, difficult and iconic holes in world golf, with players having to aim over a green shed which houses some of the machinery used to keep The Old Lady in top condition all year round.

Situated only a couple of hundred metres from St Andrews Bay and the North Sea, The Green Shed has taken a battering from the elements as well as thousands of golf balls over the years so when the time came to renew the old cladding, the chosen envelope contractor, Topek, took great care in deciding what products were to be used on this demanding and prestigious project. We were naturally delighted when they chose Tektum to supply the 316 Stainless Steel Fasteners and butyl sealants on the job.
